Gorillaz fans may be interested in selling mobile
12 November 2010 — 3:55 PM
Fans of cartoon band Gorillaz may have more reasons than most to sell a mobile and switch instead to an Apple iPhone.
That is because the group's official augmented app for the handset has been upgraded further ahead of a concert at the O2 Arena in London next week.
It means people heading to the gig in the capital can enjoy 3D models, unlock hidden content that is available only to those with an iPhone and go backstage.
This will be achieved through special markers that are to be placed around the venue.
Jasmine Skee, head of music at O2, says: "This app is a great example of how we can offer artists the latest technology to push the boundaries of the live music experience and engage even more with fans visiting their shows."
Another benefit to owners of Apple iPhones to be announed recently was the creation of an app by thetrainline.com, allowing people to book train tickets and view times via their handset.
