Garmin to launch new mobile range

Satellite navigation experts at Garmin are about to unveil their first-ever mobile phone, it has emerged.
It was announced by the company this week that the fruits of a partnership with Asus - the maker of the award-winning Eee PC mini laptop - would be showcased at this year's Mobile World Congress.
It was noted that the range of devices will be co-branded as the Garmin-Asus nuvifone series and will feature GPS navigation facilities among other features - which could interest those shopping for the latest phones.
Dr Min Kao, chairman and chief executive of Garmin, said: "We believe that through this strategic alliance we are uniquely positioned to deliver the worlds best integrated and most compelling GPS-enabled mobile devices."
The Mobile World Congress starts on February 16th and runs for three days. A number of speakers have been confirmed for the event including Hollywood star Kevin Spacey and Black Eyed Peas singer will.i.am.
Asus Eee PC 901 was named Gadget of the Year in 2008 by Stuff magazine.
