Movie makers may wish to snap up a Nokia N8 and put themselves in line for a free holiday

Amateur film makers could be in line for a luxury prize if they sell a mobile phone and invest in a Nokia N8, on which they can produce a new title.

Ian, author of the Nokia Conversations blog, explains the Finnish brand is offering eight winners of its latest competition a holiday in Florida, taking in Cape Canaverel.

All users of the device have to do in order to enter is create a movie using its state-of-the-art video recording technology.

He points to previous films such as The Commuter, Dot and Dragonfly Love – all of which were made with a Nokia N8.

"If you need it, you can apply for special equipment like [a] head-mount - and even the device itself, if you can convince the judging panel you’ve got a great idea," the author adds.

As well as its provision of equipment for video creators, the Nokia N8 features a 12-megapixel camera for fans of still images.
