New monthly tariff is 'UK's cheapest ever'
11 February 2009 — 4:40 PM
This week sees the launch of the UK's cheapest tariff that features a number of the latest phones.
Virgin Mobile has announced its new £8.50 monthly package will be the lowest-priced in Britain and consumers can expect to get their hands on some of the newest devices by signing up.
In news which may also interest those recycling mobile phones, these new models include the Nokia 5800 - the Finnish manufacturer's eagerly-anticipated entry into the touchscreen market.
Commenting on the launch, Trusted Reviews said the inclusion of 100 free minutes and texts, a wider range of phones and a slightly cheaper tariff put the deal ahead of 3 Mobile's £9 monthly offering.
The site added: "Combine this with Virgin's 30p per day mobile Internet access - as and when necessary - and you're laughing."
Other phones in the line-up include the Sony Ericsson C902 and the Nokia 7610, as well as Samsung's J700, U600 and Tocco models.
