Omnia HD handset is 'ultimate powerhouse'
17 February 2009 — 11:05 AM
A new version of the Samsung Omnia HD handset has emerged at a European technology event and the manufacturer said the phone is the "ultimate multimedia powerhouse".
It follows the original Omnia in providing consumers with a full touchscreen mobile that offers functions for business and personal use.
According to Samsung, the HD has the largest active matrix organic light emitting diode screen in the current market - at 3.7 inches - and offers more vivid colours, greater clarity and "unrivalled" sharpness.
So for those considering the latest technology and recycling their mobile phone, the Omnia HD might be a tempting idea.
"Omnia HD is an incredibly exciting product for us," said JK Shin, executive vice-president and head of mobile communication division in Samsung Electronics. "It is a mobile perfectly suited to the needs of today's consumers who want exciting multimedia experiences on the move."
It was launched at the GSMA Mobile World Congress, which is taking place in Barcelona until February 19th.
