O2 PAYG "surprise" offer extended
24 February 2009 — 4:30 PM
O2 has announced it will continue to offer pay-as-you-go (PAYG) customers access to the Top-up Surprises initiative due to its unprecedented success.
The scheme rewards PAYG users with a gift code each time they credit their handset, which can be redeemed online to obtain one of a number of mystery prizes - which can be anything from free texts to a new television.
Alistair Johnston, marketing director for Telefonica O2 UK, said: "We are now giving our 11.8 million Pay & Go customers a guaranteed gift and the chance to win something big and exciting every time they top up."
He added that in times of recession, it was vital to reward customer loyalty with such schemes.
Those looking to trade in their used phones for the latest models may be interested to hear that O2 is the UK's exclusive carrier for the Apple iPhone 3G on PAYG.
