Generate cash for charity by recycling old phones

Recycling mobile phones is one of the many ways people can go green both at work and at home, it has been advised.

An article for the Manchester Evening News this week highlights the benefits of starting an initiative in the office to encourage some eco-friendly initiatives and points out that these can be used to generate cash.

In addition to saving items such as used mobiles from going to landfill - where they can have a detrimental effect on the planet - the piece recommends using such a scheme to help a charity.

"Old mobile phones, computer equipment, stamps and printer cartridges can all be recycled to raise funds," it adds.

It also notes that a recycling initiative can often be "easy to set-up and run" and as an extra benefit they can save money and space around the workplace.

Those looking to furnish their employees with the latest contracts may also like to consider recycling mobile phones to pay for them.
