New voicemail service for BlackBerry handsets
31 March 2009 — 2:00 PM
A new voicemail service is to be made available to those with the latest phones from Research In Motion (RIM).
The manufacturer's BlackBerry line of devices have proven popular with a number of celebrity users including Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears and Kim Kardashian and now Comverse claims all users could take advantage of its new feature.
Entitled the Comverse Visual Voicemail solution, the system will provide a consolidated BlackBerry inbox for missed calls that details date, time, message length and identity where available.
John Bunyan, chief marketing officer of Comverse, said: "While the user can take pleasure in a true visual voicemail experience to save money and time, service providers can benefit from a boost in customer satisfaction."
Comverse will showcase the Visual Voicemail offering at the CTIA Wireless 2009 event in Las Vegas beginning April 1st.
RIM's current BlackBerry range includes the Storm, Curve and Pearl.
