Top 25 apps listed for Apple's latest phones
9 April 2009 — 2:00 PM
Those looking to recycle mobile phones to pay for an Apple iPhone 3G have been advised on the handset's top 25 applications.
According to comScore, Tap Tap Revenge was installed on 32 per cent of Apple App Store users' devices by the end of February this year - making it the most popular download on the site.
The second most-popular application was Backgrounds and this was followed by Touch Hockey: FS5, Facebook, Pac-Man, iBowl, MySpace Mobile, Google Earth, Labyrinth, Pandora and AIM.
Other entries included Flashlight, the Virtual Zippo Lighter, Hangman, Lightsaber Unleashed, Sol Solitaire and Crazy Penguin Catapult.
Brian Jurutka, vice-president of comScore, commented on the success of Tap Tap Revenge - noting it demonstrated how engaging content can be successful for people looking to develop games for the device.
"Since the number of app users is growing nearly ten percent each month that opportunity will only continue to grow for both existing and emerging app developers," he concluded.
