T Mobile G1 top ten reveals popularity with gamers

New handset seekers looking for the best mobile gaming experience may be interested to hear the latest figures from industry analyst Medialets.
The company has found that the recently-launched T Mobile G1, the world's first device to run using Google's open source Android operating system, is proving to be a hit with gamers.
According to the figures, the most popular downloadable application for the G1 is arcade classic Pac-Man, followed by MySpace Mobile, the Weather Channel and ShopSavvy.
Despite the age of the game, which first became popular in the early 80s, Pocket Gamer said earlier in the year that by bringing it back, the publisher behind the Android version had done a great service to users.
"For giving early Android adopters such a pure version of an all time great free of charge, we warmly commend Namco and encourage all who haven't already to download this slice of history," it advised.
The comments could inspire those looking for a new handset having recycled old mobile phones to seek out a T Mobile G1 and start gaming.
