Vodafone launches signal boosting technology
24 June 2009 — 5:00 PM
Vodafone has unveiled details of the Access Gateway, a small box that plugs in to any broadband line for improved reception.
Once installed, users can expect a "significantly" better mobile phone signal in their home as well as improved 3G connectivity - meaning they are less likely to miss important calls.
The device can be obtained free or as part of the carrier's inclusive price plans, starting at £15 a month. It can also be purchased for £160 and maintained with a monthly fee of £5.
Ian Shepherd, consumer director at Vodafone UK, said: "We are committed to delivering the best, most reliable network and this is another step towards maintaining a seamless service."
Those looking to recycle mobile phones in favour of a new Vodafone device could opt for the HTC Magic, which is exclusive to the network and only the second device to be launched in the UK with Google's Android operating system.
