The technology involved in BlackBerry mobile phones puts them ahead of their rivals, according to one expert.
A spokesman for the company that manufactures the handsets, Research In Motion (RIM), said this week that the BlackBerry is popular due to the versatility it provides in business and for personal use.
Mark Guibert, vice-president of corporate marketing for RIM, was speaking following the announcement that Viettel users in Vietnam could now get better access to the BlackBerry range.
"The BlackBerry solution continues to lead the industry in providing an optimised and empowering mobile experience for organisations and individuals that want to make the most of their time," he said.
RIM's mobile phones are regularly spotted in the hands of stars including Cameron Diaz, Jay-Z, Kim Kardashian, Rihanna and Beyonce on the Celebrity BlackBerry Sightings website.
