Credit IOU service from Vodafone
19 December 2008 — 5:46 PM
A new service has been launched for Vodafone pay-as-you-go customers that could interest those with cash for mobile phones.
The Network states that Vodafone IOU now means that even when someone does not have the cash to purchase credit they can access an emergency £2 worth of talktime.
Users can simply text 'IOU' to 468, or make a quick call to the same number, to register their interest - after this they can have access to the credit which is deducted when they next top-up.
According to Ian Haynes, the operator's head of product and pricing, the service will help many people who have found themselves in a difficult situation with their mobiles.
"£2 can go a long way with our Vodafone Simply price plan and it's a really convenient service for our customers," he added.
The company recently announced that the first 18 of its 50 new stores would be rolled out in early 2009.
