Business initiative launched to encourage recycling
7 August 2009 — 2:00 PM
This month sees the start of a number of workshops aimed at encouraging companies in the UK to recycle more.
Put together by the Waste and Resources Action Programme (Wrap), the Advantage West Midlands will target that particular part of the region in explaining how environmental practices can be good for business.
The initiative allows firms to compete for grants to help cut the capital costs of such projects by up to 45 per cent, although applicants must prove their plans will divert mixed plastics and other waste from going to landfill.
Wrap has organised four workshops to introduce the scheme with the first set to take place on Wednesday August 19th in Longbridge. This will be followed by an event in Malvern the next day.
September 2nd will see the discussions move to Stoke-on-Trent and five days later visitors to the event in Coventry will be advised on how they could benefit.
Of course, one easy way for firms to get more environmentally-friendly is to start a mobile recycling scheme.
