The X2 could be good for professionals on the go

Following on from the original Xperia X1, Sony Ericsson has noted some features of the X2 that may interest those recycling mobile phones.

This week the company detailed the many features of the new model, which include Windows Mobile 6.5, an 8.1-megapixel camera, full qwerty keyboard, DVD quality playback and 3G.

However, in addition to the multimedia facilities the device has to offer, Sony Ericsson's marketing business manager Sumit Malhotra has commented on why the smartphone may also be popular with professionals.

"We constantly rely on our mobile phones as an extension to the office and the Xperia X2 debuting with Windows Mobile 6.5, allows users to work quickly and efficiently while on the move," he explained.

Microsoft Office Mobile is another feature on the phone that may appeal to those recycling mobile phones for a more business-focused handset and the gadget's new SlideView option offers easy access to contacts, messages and documents.

Sony Ericsson has significantly boosted the photographic credentials on the new X2 - as its predecessor boasted a 3.2-megapixel snapper.
