Consumers shopping for a new device having recycled used mobile phones may be interested in an announcement from 3 Mobile.
The carrier has launched the new Sony Ericsson Satio on its network, meaning its customers can now be among the first to get their hands on the world's first market-ready 12-megapixel camera phone.
According to the operator, buyers will benefit from not only the new sensor technology, but also features like touch focus, face detection and an integrated Xenon flash.
"From spectacular fireworks to embarrassing Halloween customers, autumn is full of picture-prefect occasions, so its the perfect time to snap up a Satio," it added.
For £30 per month, 3 Mobile is offering the model on its Mix and Match 18-month contract, which comes with free Skype and Windows Live Messenger, as well as 300 minutes or texts and a package of same-network calls.
The phone joins other camera-focussed Sony Ericsson models of the past that include the Cyber-shot series.
