LG has a range of messaging-focused models now available

An announcement this week from 3 Mobile could be good news for consumers with a "messaging addiction", it has been suggested.

The carrier explained this week that by bringing the LG GW520 to its catalogue of products, there is now an extra option for people looking at devices with full qwerty keyboards.

Consumers recycling mobile phones for such a gadget may also welcome the fact that the model comes equipped with a 2.8-inch resistive touch screen and 3G connectivity through HSDPA.

"The slide out qwerty keyboard allows you to make the most of the unlimited Windows Live messenger and Skype available on 3. Not to mention Push email, allowing you to receive emails as they come through," the firm added.

Last week, music fans were given the chance to get their hands on the new HTC Hero through 3 Mobile, complete with a package that includes access to Spotify Premium.
