4 December 2009 — 3:25 PM
Consumers recycling mobile phones to take advantage of Vodafone's latest service may be interested in its latest sporting sponsorship.
The network has teamed up with Samsung and will be backing the The Big Game 2, which sees Harlequins take on Wasps in a Guinness Premiership Rugby clash at Twickenham on December 27th.
It was noted the deal will help the launch of the manufacturer's new H1 handset, which is the first to boast access to the network's new 360 offering.
This service combines contacts and phonebook entries with the mobile internet and is designed to make social networking and communication easier and more centralised.
Mark Mitchinson, vice-president of Samsung Mobile UK and Ireland, said: "It's the perfect platform for Vodafone 360 and the Samsung H1 handset which will undoubtedly resonate with the thousands of fans attending The Big Game 2."
The network and manufacturer celebrated the official launch of the handset on November 16th.
