Selling an old mobile phone? 3D gaming on Palm Pre could be attractive
5 January 2010 — 11:58 AM
Palm Pre owners in the UK will soon be able to play 3D games on their mobile phone, which could encourage consumers to trade in their used mobile phone.
From March users of the handset will have access to the online App Catalog allowing them access to around 600 apps for their handset.
The App Catalog has been available to users of the service in the US for two months.
In a blog post announcing the webOS Catlog's European arrival Chuq Von Rospach of Palm said: "We offer greater freedom and choice of how to get your applications to market and unparalleled control."
Developers of the technology are hoping to attract more developers to the handset which is also available in Ireland, Spain and Germany.
This could be good news for consumers as it offers the potential for more applications to be made available to them.
Users of the Apple iPhone have access to thousands of downloadable apps via the iTunes App Store.
