Research In Motion's first foray into the clamshell mobile phone market is a powerful yet fun option for consumers, it has been suggested.
A spokesman for Maxis Communications Berhad, a Malaysian network operator, has singled out RIM's BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 - stating that its innovative design is matched by the number of features it offers.
Following the announcement the Flip 8220 would be made available by the carrier, the firm's chief marketing officer Matthew Willsher commented on the reasons why those recycling used mobiles may be interested in it.
"The BlackBerry Pearl Flip offers a powerful combination of functionality, performance and usability to support the mobile lifestyle and takes it a step further with its compact and sleek design," he added.
RIM's 8220 is available in the UK on the O2 network - and may interest those looking to upgrade old handsets.
Other models in the BlackBerry range include the Storm - a touchscreen model which is exclusive to Vodafone users.
