BlackBerry Twitter application can stand its own ground

The BlackBerry application has come under the spotlight at one mobile phone website, which calls the feature "slick and well designed".

Reviewing the Twitter BlackBerry application, Know Your Mobile said users can experience similarities with Twitter's own website, which could make sending Tweets quicker and more convenient.

Uploading photos via Twitpic also proves useful. The review stated: "You'll find many of the features that have become standard in Twitter clients, from persistent searches to details of the currently most popular topics and hash tags."

However, it does warn that while the application can stand its ground compared to others, it is more suitable for the casual Twitter user as only a few Tweets are available at one time.

To see more, BlackBerry users will have to wait for them to download.

Upgrading to the smartphone after selling used phones could remain attractive, in light of the announcement by technology site Brighthand.com that the Blackberry Curve 8530 is the most searched for product by its users.
