The Nokia N79 is to be launched in an eco-friendly bundle, according to the manufacturer.

Following the announcement last week the Finnish company would make available a package for the device incorporating GPS-enabled fitness equipment, details have emerged on a green version that has been launched.

Available for pre-order from the Nokia store, the N79 Eco will be in a smaller box, comes with a £4 charitable donation to the World Wildlife Fund and is without a charger - which the group explains cuts down unnecessary waste.

"We understand you don't always need another charger. So, when you buy this Nokia N79 online, it comes without one. All we're asking is that you keep hold of your old Nokia charger, and use it again," the company says in a statement.

Last week, the firm announced the Nokia N79 Active bundle, which featured a revised version of its fitness software, as well as a Bluetooth heart rate monitor from Polar.
