Ovi Maps on the Nokia N97

The Nokia N97 is currently in the spotlight, with employees at the mobile phone company deciding what routes to include on the handset's Ovi Maps.

According to the Nokia Conversations blog, Nokia has created the 12 most scenic routes in the 12 most beautiful countries.

Such technology available through modern Nokia handsets like the N97 could be one of the many reasons why people decide to sell their used mobile phones to upgrade to a newer model.

And people interested in green issues like mobile phone recycling may agree with previous claims from the handset maker that planning journeys in advance can help reduce unnecessary travel.

Those people heading off to France have been told by the French that Les ales de Glenan is worth a visit.

Over 60 per cent of locals believe Mont Saint-Michel in Normandy is the best natural landscape in the country and using Nokia's Ovi Maps could help people take advantage of the scenery.

"Using your device to navigate your chosen holiday destination is easier - and, at free, much cheaper - than ever before. Pre-load maps for your chosen destination before you leave and you’ll swerve any foreign data charges," the blog advised.
