Selling an old mobile could keep people up to date.

Selling an old mobile phone may be an option worth considering for people looking to get their hands on a new device being offered by O2.

Consumers will be able to get the Dell Streak - featuring a five-megapixel camera, high-speed processor and built in Wi-Fi - exclusively on the mobile phone network from next month.

It promises to bring the internet, entertainment, simple turn-by-turn navigation and thousands of Android Market apps to the palm of customers' hands and might be ideal for those looking to do more on the move.

"The Dell Streak hits the sweet spot between traditional smartphones and larger-screen tablets. Its unique size provides people new ways to enjoy, connect and navigate their lives," said Ron Garriques, president for the Dell Communication Solutions Group.

Steve Alder, O2's general manager of devices, added the handset is a "bold new class of product" and something the network was keen to offer to customers first.

An alternative could be the Palm Pre Plus, which has recently been launched.
