Consumers might wish to consider selling an old mobile for cash with Envirofone in order to upgrade to a new handset that makes use of applications.

Vodafone has recently announced the winner of a competition to find the best new app in Europe.

The award went to FlickrShow - which allows users to do more with Flickr - designed by indepedent mobile developer Pedro Campos, who was awarded €75,000 (£63, 600).

He stated that winning the final stage of the Vodafone App Star competition was brilliant news and admitted he made sure his app was "not only easy to use but could help people in their everyday lives and it's great to see that it’s been so well received by customers across Europe".

He added that competitions such as this offer developers a chance to shine and he is looking forward to developing more apps for Vodafone 360 in the future.

People who decided to sell their old handset could opt to upgrade to an Apple iPhone on the network.
