2 June 2010 — 11:45 AM
Football fans preparing to travel to South Africa for the upcoming World Cup may still have time to get money for their old mobile phone and sign up to a deal with Three UK.
The network is slashing data roaming prices by 50 per cent for smartphone users in the African country during June and July.
This could potentially save mobile users attending the world's top football competition a significant amount of cash.
It also means Three's prices are 50 per cent cheaper than those of its closest rival, giving fans the most affordable way to email, browse the internet and make phone calls.
Marc Allera, Three's sales and marketing director, says: "Staying in touch with friends and family while abroad and sharing the experiences you are having, is really important to our customers. "
The World Cup kicks off in Johannesburg on June 11th when the hosts take on Mexico.
