With Nokia's latest phone hitting the market last week, the Finnish company has spoken of its success.
On Friday January 23rd, Nokia launched its first ever touchscreen phone - the 5800 XpressMusic in the UK and the manufacturer has announced this has coincided with one million units now shipped.
This is due to the fact the device has been onsale in some other international markets since October last year - but one spokeswoman for the group adds it is expected to perform well everywhere.
Jo Harlow, vice-president of Nokia, notes the 5800 XpressMusic had been "received very positively".
She adds the milestone shipping figure was "further proof that people all over the world want a device that is not only a great music experience, but also makes the most of touch screen technology."
Those looking to recycle used mobiles may be interested to learn that the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic comes with a 3.5mm jack - making it suitable for standard headphones - and 8GB of memory.
