O2 mobile phone customers 'are the most loyal'

Britons who decide to sell their used mobile phones for cash may choose to stay with O2 if it is their current network operator.

A new study has rated the network the best for customer loyalty, landing a Net Promoter Score of 24 per cent, above those of Virgin Media, Three, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone.

The Satmetrix 2010 European Net Promoter survey discovered more customers are likely to recommend O2's products and services than those of its rivals.

O2 used mobile phones could be sold for newer handsets from the operator, such as the iPhone 4, which is released in the UK later this week.

New or upgrading O2 customers can get the new Apple device on an 18 or 24-month tariff.

Customer services director at the network operator Cheryl Black said: "Everything we do is based on customer insight. We thank every one of our customers who took the trouble to participate in this survey and help us gain this fabulous recognition."

Areas O2 made a mark in include customer service, good tariffs and reliable coverage.
