Apple iPhone 3G 8GB 'top for mobile phone recycling'
8 July 2010 — 3:53 PM
Apple's iPhones are the most recycled handsets, new figures have revealed.
The table from SellMyMobile.com reveals the Apple iPhone 3G 8GB is top of the chart when it comes to what devices consumers are choosing to recycle for cash.
One reason for this could be the release of the iPhone 4 last month, which saw stocks sell out on the release date as people snapped up the latest Apple offering.
In second place is the Apple iPhone 3G S 16GB, while the 3g 16GB version takes third position for most recycled mobile phones.
The website also noted the most recent mobile phone recycling sales, with Envirofone one of the companies it regularly tracks.
Envirofone has been established in the UK and Ireland since 2005 and says it hopes 2010 will be "a massive year", while it is set to expand across several other countries.
Consumers receive the cash for mobile phone recycling into their PayPal or bank account.
