Individuals who would like to invest in a smartphone may want to sell their old mobile so they can use the cash to buy an iPhone 4.
Vodafone has announced the smartphone is now available on a pay-as-you-go contract.
The iPhone 4 is the latest offering from Apple and has a number of features including a five mega-pixel camera with a flash and a 720p high-definition video camera.
Owners of the device will also be able to participate in Face Time video calling.
People who take up the offer before November will get a year's worth of BT Openzone WiFi access with a one GB limit per month and 12 months of data access of 250MB per 30-day period.
Consumer director at Vodafone Mark Bond remarked: "Customers asked us to make the iPhone 4 available on pay as you go, offering them a variety of ways to pay for their mobile internet access."
Last week, rival operator T-Mobile launched the iPhone 4 across its stores in the UK.
Jon Butler, creative brand manager at Envirofone, says: "If you like the flexibility of pay-as-you-go, this new pay plan could be right for you. An easy way to upgrade your old phone is to trade it in for cash."
