Dell Streak 2.2 4 Stars

« Back to reviews Dell Streak 2.2

Look and feel

Despite its curved and sleek body, which comes in shiny red and black, the size of the Streak means it is not pocket-sized.

Ease of use

Having Android 2.2 on board means that the Streak offers the user some powerful facilities, and of course Dell’s own interface, Stage has its own custom widgets too.

Features

The hardware set is the same as that of the Streak’s predecessor – there’s a 5-inch capacitive touch-screen, five-megapixel camera, WVGA display and 16GB of memory.

Performance

The Stage interface offers a smooth experience, and the new features and widgets are simple to use.

Battery life

Battery life is good, running through a complete day even with 3G and Wi-Fi constantly on.

Pros:
Speedy typing comes courtesy of Swype keyboards; the Stage user interface is simple to set up; new widgets; camera produce good images; Google Navigation.
Cons:
big as a phone and too small as a tablet; display is a bit slow; no smart dialling.
Rating:
  • Look and Feel 4 Stars
  • Ease of use 4 Stars
  • Features 4 Stars
  • Performance 4 Stars
  • Battery life 5 Stars

Final verdict: 4 Stars

The Streak 2.2 has the bonus of some decent new features but its dimensions could prove its downfall.
