Nokia X7 2 Stars
Look and feel
Nice looking device featuring a huge four-inch screen and a metal reverse – but the angular grilled corners may be a matter of taste.
Ease of use
While the phone has plenty to offer, it is let down by the far-from-user-friendly Symbian OS – no wonder Nokia is dumping it in favour of Windows Phone 7
Good social networking; decent eight-megapixel camera; HD video; Wi-Fi and accurate A-GPS pinpointing using the excellent Ovi Maps.
Both the camera and the sat-nav are excellent, and it is a useful device for video viewing too. It’s just a shame that installing apps takes so darn long.
This battery surprises – you’ll get a good two days out of the phone if you’re using Wi-Fi, sat nav and making calls – that’s twice as long as the iPhone or an Android handset.
- Huge screen; nice design, metal body; top-notch camera; excellent sat-nav.
- OS is not user-friendly; you’d expect a better-than-680MHz processor at this price.
- Look and Feel 4 Stars
- Ease of use 2 Stars
- Features 2 Stars
- Performance 3 Stars
- Battery life 3 Stars
Final verdict: 2 Stars
The handset offers some excellent features such as the camera and sat-nav, along with great build quality, but the Nokia X7 is let down by the clunky OS.
