Samsung Galaxy Apollo I5801 4 Stars

Look and feel

The front of the Galaxy 15801 is light, sturdy and good looking, but the back is made from cheap-looking plastic.

Ease of use

A decent touch screen and customisable home screen mean it’s simple to set up this phone as you’d like it.

Features

The flash-less camera failed to impress but there are plenty of pluses from Android 2.1 including multi-touch, a decent browser and access to a vast amount of games and apps.

Performance

The phone is pretty speedy but is let down by GPS and the mediocre camera – and the processor can’t handle all those apps.

Battery life

With a battery life of more than a day, it does better than the iPhone and top-end Android devices.

Pros:
A well-priced Android phone; decent touch-screen; good onboard storage and access to Android Market.
Cons:
Mediocre camera; sluggish GPS; low-res, small screen.
Rating:
  • Look and Feel 4 Stars
  • Ease of use 4 Stars
  • Features 4 Stars
  • Performance 3 Stars
  • Battery life 3 Stars

Final verdict: 4 Stars

This is a well-made, budget Android device but it can’t compete with more pricey smartphones on performance.
