Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 2 Stars
Look and feel
It may be a pocket-sized device but the Xperia X8’s plastic chassis makes it feel rather flimsy and cheap.
Ease of use
With Android 1.6 on board, the Xperia 8 feels out of date and fails to offer a smooth user experience thanks to its complicated menu navigation.
The Xperia offers the user a 3.15-megapixel camera, A-GPS and Sony’s own Timescape, plus Wi-Fi and HSDPA for internet access.
With an out-of-date OS and all kinds of glitches and restrictions, we weren’t impressed by the Xperia X8.
Battery life was really good, lasting for 476 hours on standby, and 340 minutes of talktime.
- A responsive virtual QWERTY keyboard offered good auto-suggestions.
- The operating system feels out of date.
- Look and Feel 2 Stars
- Ease of use 2 Stars
- Features 3 Stars
- Performance 2 Stars
- Battery life 4 Stars
Final verdict: 2 Stars
The X8’s innovative design makes it stand out, but it is let down by too many hiccups and a disappointing display.
