Nokia N900 Gadget of the Year?

Monday, 08 February 2010 — 3:59 PM

N900 nominated for Gadget of the Year award

Consumers could be interested in trading in their used mobile phone to receive cash to put towards a Nokia N900 handset.

The Nokia mobile has been nominated for the Gadget of the Year and Smartphone of the Year gongs in the Engadget Awards.

Nokia also received a nomination in the Netbook of the Year category, thanks to its Nokia Booklet 3G.

The Engadget Awards have nominations spread across 23 different categories and could provide consumers with some idea about which handsets are available to them.

Voting is open until Saturday February 20th and the winners will be revealed the following week.

Nokia recently asked its customers what features they would like to added to its Ovi Maps service and 40 per cent of voters requested that local guides were added, providing consumers with an element of knowledge about the location they are in.

More than one million people have downloaded Ovi Maps since the application became available for free on January 21st.
