Clearpay: Frequently Asked Questions

Clearpay lets you split the cost of your order into four interest-free instalments that are taken every two weeks. It's designed to give you more time to pay while keeping the checkout experience quick and simple, whether you're shopping online or in store.

Select Clearpay at checkout and log in to your Clearpay account, or create one in minutes. You'll be asked for your payment card and a few personal details. Once Clearpay approves the purchase, the first instalment is taken straight away and the rest are scheduled automatically.

You can use Clearpay wherever you see the Clearpay logo at participating retailers. Look for the option on a retailer's checkout page or in their store. In the Clearpay app you'll also find a directory of brands that offer it, making it easy to plan your next purchase.

Clearpay is available to UK residents aged 18 or over with a valid email address, mobile number and UK billing address. You'll also need to link a UK debit or credit card. Clearpay checks orders in real time, so eligibility can change depending on your payment history and the value of your basket.

Your order total is split into four equal payments. The first instalment is taken when your order is confirmed, with the remaining three collected every two weeks. Clearpay sends reminders before each payment is due, and you can check the schedule at any time in the Clearpay app or via your online account.

If a payment is coming up and you need more time, sign in to your Clearpay account to move the due date once for free. Missed payments may incur a late fee, and your Clearpay account could be paused until the balance is cleared. Staying on track helps you keep access to future Clearpay orders.

Orders placed with Clearpay are dispatched just like any other purchase. We'll ship your items according to the delivery option you choose at checkout, even though you're paying in instalments.

Clearpay sets personalised order limits that can vary by shopper. Your spending power depends on factors such as your payment history, the retailer you're buying from and the total value of your basket. If you need more flexibility, making payments on time can help grow your available limit.

Your Clearpay instalments are collected from the card you link to your account, so you can't split a single order across different payment methods. If a gift card or store credit covers part of your purchase, Clearpay will apply to the remaining balance.

Follow our usual returns process and keep your Clearpay instalments up to date in the meantime. Once we process your return, Clearpay will adjust or cancel any remaining payments and refund what you've already paid back to your original payment method.

Visit Clearpay's Help Centre for detailed guidance on managing your account, payments and orders. You can also get in touch with Clearpay directly through the app or their website if you have a question about your repayments.
