- What is the difference between the iPhone 13 and the iPhone 14?
- They differ on 10 of the 24 specifications their makers publish, including released (2021 against 2022), graphics (4-core GPU against 5-core GPU) and main camera aperture (ƒ/1.6 against ƒ/1.5), and 7 more. Everything else on this page reads the same on both.
- Is the iPhone 14 worth it over the iPhone 13?
- The iPhone 14 is a year newer, and most of what it adds is not on a standard spec sheet. Both run the A15 Bionic chip, but the 14's has a fifth graphics core. Its main camera has a larger sensor behind a brighter ƒ/1.5 lens, the front camera gains autofocus, and Apple's Photonic Engine and Action mode are new. It is also the first iPhone with Crash Detection and Emergency SOS via satellite. Otherwise they are close: the same screen, an hour's difference on Apple's video playback test, and within a fraction of a millimetre and a gram of each other. Choose the iPhone 13 to spend less, because for everyday use there is little between them. Choose the iPhone 14 if the safety features or better low-light photos matter to you, since those are the parts that genuinely changed.
- What do the iPhone 13 and the iPhone 14 have in common?
- They match on 14 of the 24 published specifications, including screen size, screen type, resolution and chip, and 10 more.
- Can I trade in my current phone against one of these?
- Yes. Tell us what you have and we will give you a price for it, and that price comes off whichever of these you buy. The figures on this page are what we are paying today.
