Cookie policy: what we set, and what you can turn off.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep. Some hold things the site cannot work without, like what is in your basket. Others record how the site was found and used, which is how we tell whether our advertising is worth what it costs.

This policy covers cookies and anything that behaves like one, including tags and pixels loaded through Google Tag Manager.

Your choice

The first time you visit we ask whether to allow analytics and advertising cookies. Nothing in those two groups is set until you accept. If you decline, the site works exactly as it did before, and we do not ask again unless the policy materially changes.

Change your cookie choices

We store your answer in a cookie called ef_consent, for six months. It records only the answer, and nothing about you.

Essential cookies

These run whatever you choose, because without them the site cannot do what you asked it to.

• Your basket and your trade-in quote - so a device you are part-way through selling or buying is still there when you come back.
• Sign-in - so your account stays open between pages.
• Security - Cloudflare and Cloudflare Turnstile, which keep the site up and separate real customers from automated abuse.
• Your cookie choice - ef_consent, so we do not have to ask again.

Analytics cookies

Only set if you accept.

• Google Analytics - which pages are used and where people get stuck.

We also use Plausible, which measures pages without cookies and without collecting anything personal, so it runs either way.

Advertising cookies

Only set if you accept. These are how we tell which adverts led to a real order, rather than guessing.

• Google Ads - records that a visit came from one of our adverts, and whether it ended in a trade-in or a purchase.
• Meta (Facebook) pixel - the same, for adverts on Facebook and Instagram.
• Awin - so partner sites who send us customers are paid correctly.
• Our own attribution cookies - ef_attr, ef_source and ef_campaign, which remember how you first found us. They hold a source name and a click identifier, not your name or anything you typed.

Controlling cookies in your browser

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, usually under Settings, then Privacy. Blocking everything will stop parts of this site working, including checkout - that is a limitation of how baskets work, not a choice we have made.

Changes to this policy

If we materially change what we set cookies for, we will ask for your choice again rather than carry over an answer you gave about something else.
