There are five. The original V1 (2017) has a red and blue Joy-Con pair and its serial number starts XAW. The V2 (2019) looks identical but lasts far longer on a charge and its serial starts XKW - it is worth more, so it is worth checking the back of the console before you pick. The Lite is smaller, has no detachable Joy-Cons and does not dock to a TV. The OLED has a 7-inch screen and a wide adjustable stand. The Switch 2 (2025) is noticeably bigger with magnetic Joy-Cons. If you are not sure, pick the model that looks closest and we'll confirm it when the console arrives.
It depends on the model and its condition. The prices on this page are the most we pay for each Switch today and they move with demand, so the quote you see is the quote you get if you accept it now. Pick your model to see the exact figure for the condition yours is in.
Yes. Joy-Con drift is the most common Switch fault we see and it does not stop us buying the console. Select the faulty condition when you get your quote and we'll give you a fair price. The console does need to switch on: we cannot accept one that will not power up at all.
No. We only need the console itself, so you can keep the dock, the grip, the HDMI cable and the charger. Joy-Cons are the exception worth knowing about: we buy them separately, so if you are not keeping yours you can get a quote for those on this page too.
Yes, and please do it before it leaves you. Deregister the console as your primary Nintendo Switch in your Nintendo Account settings online, then use System Settings, Formatting Options, Initialise Console on the device itself. That unlinks your games and takes your details off it. Remove any game cartridges and your microSD card as well - we cannot return them once the console is with us.
You will usually see a higher headline price on eBay, but it is not what you keep: there are seller fees, postage to arrange, the risk of a dispute and the wait for a buyer. With us the price is fixed when you accept it, postage is free and tracked, and payment goes out the day we test it. Since 2005 we have paid over £160 million to customers.
