It depends on the model, the storage and the condition. The prices on this page are the most we pay for each handheld today and they move with demand, so the quote you see is the quote you get if you accept it now. Pick your model to see the exact figure for the condition yours is in.

Can I sell a handheld with stick drift or a cracked screen?

Yes. Stick drift is the most common fault we see on handhelds and it does not stop us buying yours. Select the faulty condition when you get your quote and we'll give you a fair price for it. The device does need to come on: we cannot accept one that will not power up at all.

Do I need to send the dock, case or charger?

No. We only need the handheld itself, so you can keep the dock, the carry case, the charger and any cables. Send it in its case by all means if that is how you have it, but nothing beyond the device is needed for your quote to stand.

Which handheld do I have?

Check the back of the device. Valve's Steam Decks say Steam Deck under the vents, and the OLED is the one with the black bezel and no visible screws on the rear. Asus handhelds carry the ROG logo: the Ally X is thicker with a larger grip than the original Ally, and the ROG Xbox Ally models are the white and black Xbox-branded pair from 2025. Lenovo's Legion Go has detachable controllers and a kickstand, and the Go S has fixed grips. MSI's are badged Claw. If you are not sure, pick the one that looks closest and we'll confirm it when it arrives.

Should I wipe it before sending it?

Yes, and please do it before it leaves you. On a Steam Deck use Settings, System, then the factory reset option. On a Windows handheld - ROG Ally, Legion Go or Claw - use Settings, System, Recovery, Reset this PC and choose to remove everything. Sign out of Steam, Xbox and any other store first, and take out any microSD card: we cannot return one once it is with us.

Is it better to trade in my handheld or sell it on eBay?

You will usually see a higher headline price on eBay, but it is not what you keep: there are seller fees, postage to arrange, the risk of a dispute and the wait for a buyer. With us the price is fixed when you accept it, postage is free and tracked, and payment goes out the day we test it. Since 2005 we have paid over £160 million to customers.
