At the current time, the iPhone 17 isn't even confirmed, however, following previous iPhone knowledge and rumours from the internet, we can harvest a guess as to what we could see from the upcoming model.

Is the iPhone 17 coming?

Although nothing has been revealed as of yet, there are a few things we can almost assume are 100% correct. Firstly the phone's release date. Every year (minus the year of COVID-19), the iPhone is released in September, usually at the end of the month after being revealed at the beginning. So we can almost guarantee this will be the case for the 17 model. It's rumoured the announcement will be on September 9th 2025, with pre-orders being able the following week.

• 14 – September 16th 2022
• 13 – September 24th 2021
• 12 – October 23rd 2020 (pushed back due to covid)
• 11 – September 20th 2019

Will the iPhone 17 have major changes?

Like with most phones, there is always an improvement to the interior performance, battery, camera quality and more. So again we assume these features will all be adapted. It is believed we could see a new chipset for the iPhone 17, which would improve the phone's efficiency and processing speeds. Simple procedures like AP loading times and the general speed of the phone will be increased. And of course, the display of the phone will improve. It is rumoured Apple is moving onto a tougher material to make their screen and display out of, to make it even more scratch-proof and safer.

The iPhone 17 Air will also be releasing alongside the main iPhone 17 series. It will have less cameras and obviously be much smaller and lighter compared to the normal models. The camera placement has been rumoured to run across the top of the phone, rather than down the side. This will be a great way to clear up the difference between the iPhone 17 Air and the regular iPhone 17 series. 

Will the iPhone 17 have a different design?

Various leaked editions of the iPhone 17 series have spread talk on what the phone will look like, design-wise. The lens placement seems to be the same, but a new dynamic island seems to have appeared on the back of the phone. We could see a return to alimumium framing (not on the Pro model) and there's a chance to iPhone 17 will be slightly bigger, at 6.3" instead of 6.1". Finally, we believe Apple will be including new colour options for the 17 series, this is very likely as it's an aspect that Apple do often when a new selection ofphones come out.
