Apple Watch troubleshooting
Common Apple Watch problems we see and what to try first.
Activation Lock at setup
If your Watch asks for a previous owner’s Apple ID, that’s on us. Don’t try to bypass it — email [email protected] with your order number and we’ll fix it remotely or arrange a free return.
Won’t pair with iPhone
- Both devices need Bluetooth on and Wi-Fi on, and to be within range of each other.
- If the Watch shows a previous pairing screen, you may need to unpair it first (Watch app → My Watch → tap (i) → Unpair Apple Watch).
- Restart both: hold the Watch side button → Power Off; restart the iPhone too.
- If still nothing, factory-reset the Watch: Watch → Settings → General → Reset → Erase All Content and Settings.
Fast battery drain
The usual culprits:
- An app misbehaving — check Watch → Settings → Battery for what’s using power.
- Always-On Display — turn it off in Display & Brightness if you don’t need it.
- Cellular connection used heavily (away from iPhone) — Cellular eats battery fast.
- watchOS just updated — first 24 hours often run hot while everything re-indexes.
Won’t charge
- Make sure the magnetic puck is sitting flush against the back of the Watch.
- Try a different USB power source — laptops often deliver too little for fast watch charging.
- Clean the back of the Watch and the puck — sweat residue can interfere.
- If nothing works after 30 minutes, hit us up under warranty.
Frozen or unresponsive
Force restart: hold both the side button and the Digital Crown together for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
