Samsung Galaxy battery health

Every refurbished Galaxy we sell has a battery that performs at 80% or better. Here’s what that means and how to check it.

What “battery health 80%+” means

Battery health is a percentage that compares the current charge capacity to when the battery was brand-new. 100% means as-new; 80% means it holds 80% of its original charge.

Below 80% you start to notice meaningfully shorter screen-on time and faster discharge. We test every refurbished Galaxy and any battery under 80% is replaced before we sell it.

How to check your Galaxy’s battery health

Samsung doesn’t expose a battery-health percentage in standard Settings, but you can get a good read-out in two ways:

1. Open Samsung Members (pre-installed on most Galaxies, or grab it from Play Store). Tap Get help → Interactive checks → Battery for an overall health rating.
2. Or dial *#0228# on the phone keypad — a service screen shows live battery voltage and capacity figures (advanced).

If Samsung Members reports your battery as anything other than Good within the first 6 months, that’s covered by warranty — see below.

Battery warranty

Batteries are covered for 6 months from delivery (the rest of the device is covered for 12). If the battery is rated as anything other than Good within those 6 months, we’ll replace it free of charge.

After 6 months, batteries fall under normal wear and aren’t covered. We can quote for a paid battery replacement any time.

Getting more from your battery

• Use Protect Battery in Settings → Battery and device care → Battery → More battery settings. It caps charging at 85% to slow battery wear.
• Avoid leaving the phone in direct sunlight or in a hot car.
• Use a genuine Samsung 25W+ USB-C PD charger for fast charging — cheap chargers can cause excess heat and degrade the battery.
• Update One UI regularly — battery management improves with major updates.
